Talk 17 - luck
We often regard luck with high standards. Being lucky is always seen as beneficial and everyone loves to be lucky but the question is how do we define who is lucky and who is not. For, the so called lucky person. Are they really lucky to be in situations that need them to use their luck or is someone lucky not to be in those situations in the first place, Sure cheating death 7 times or escaping 630 assassination attempts sounds unbelievable and all we can think of, is that they might have unimaginable luck to have escaped these situations but don't you think, they are actually unlucky to encounter such situations in the first place. How exactly do we see luck as. I cant put a finger on it. How are the scales actually decided or do we just assume some preconceived ideas made of our own. It seems like the superlative form of jealousy that has been picturised to make others feel bad. The only thing that doesn't have an explanation and can't be achieved though effort. it purely depends on the individual and that is what makes luck so unique. its like the tiny pinch of fiction hiding amongst the tough reality. Giving shape to people's delusions, appreciated and wanted by everyone. Luck is neither an entity or an object. It's just a word that has been given more importance than it should be given. To be lucky or not can be described differently by different persons. It depends on how we see things and how we interpret them. Being shot in the hand might be lucky for one person who might think that he was lucky enough to not get hit on the head. While at the same time another person might think that he was unlucky to be present at that place at that time. We can just be lucky enough to live another day without being struck with a meteorite but that's normal. we take it for granted. We don't celebrate the obvious but we take it as obvious. Our mind can only think so much. Thinking too big or too small makes it go haywire and forcing it might lead to illusions. Thus we tend to categorize stuff and when something unexpected happens and we tackle it. We take it as luck. We think it as superficial because the brain tends to pay less attention to he stuff it can skip out as excuses and that is what precisely called luck. An excuse of brain that suppresses reality
